About Me

My name is Lindsey Moriyama and I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. The person who inspired me to first write was my late grandfather, Sadao Moriyama. He was an intelligent and kind man, who loved reading and writing stories. Some of my most vivid childhood memories are of the two of us, sitting in his study. He would be reading a book on historical warfare while I’m curled up with the newest Harry Potter novel and the smell of pipe smoke wafts around the room. My grandfather inspired me to become a writer by first making me a reader. I know that one of his greatest ambitions was to attend college but was unable to because he had to become the head of his family. I look up to my grandfather and owe everything that I love about reading and writing to him.

In addition to reading and writing, I enjoy volleyball and cross country running. I am a double major in English and Classics at Willamette University in Salem Oregon.
